This is one of my favorite ways to use up apples in the fall, and nothing makes your home smell as wonderful as hot apple cinnamon spice tea simmering on the stove.
Ingredients for Apple Cinnamon Tea
3 – 4 tea bags or tea leaves. Try black tea, green tea, rooibos tea, or an herbal tea of your choice.
1 large apple ( or 2 small). Use fresh apples for the best apple flavor.
1- 2 cinnamon sticks
4 cups of water
Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice

Instructions
1. Dice the apple, leaving the skin on for added nutrients and flavor.
2. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
3. Place the tea, apple pieces, and cinnamon sticks into the boiling water. You can pop them into the pot now if you use other add-ins, such as ginger or cloves.
4. Reduce heat and let the mixture gently simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes or until it has reached your desired strength.
5. Strain the tea into cups.
6. Add sweetener if desired and garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.
Note: Taste the tea before adding sweetener, as some apples are sweeter than others.
